Designed by award-winning Bradford based Beckwith Design Associates, the development has restored and re-used the site ensuring the long-term future of a collection of historically significant buildings and underpinning the social and economic sustainability of the area. The restoration work involved sandblasting the properties, replacing the roofs, windows, pillars, introducing a lift and secure covered bicycle hub. This gated community has number plate recognition facility and ample car parking for residents, visitors and disabled people with electric vehicle charging points. The mill buildings will house 49 one and two bedroom apartments for rental. A second phase designed by architects, Bowman Riley comprising 22 new family homes began in 2019 with the infrastructure already in place. Part of the extensive landscaping planters and seating area in the centre of the development.
